Thank you for your interest in Bethel Lutheran School. Our goal is to assist you throughout the inquiry, application, and enrollment process.
Elementary Eligibility:
Our elementary grades begin in our Jr Kindergarten class and continue through our Fifth grade class. Children must be 5 years old by December 1st to be eligible to apply for either our JK or Kindergarten program. Teacher's recommendations and a copy of the student's cumulative file are also required prior to determining if we move to the assessment process.
We want all students to succeed. We do not have resource specialists nor special education accommodations available. At Bethel, students thrive who have been trained to work in a traditional schooling environment. Therefore, we use the application process to promote the child’s best interests and promote their best learning placement. (This does not mean that all children should attend Bethel Lutheran School.)If after the application and all supplemental materials have been reviewed, the determination is made to continue with the application process, elementary children will have a placement assessment scheduled. The placement assessment will be the determining factor if Bethel is the appropriate school to best meet the educational needs of your student.
Preschool Eligibility
Children applying for the preschool program must be fully toilet trained and 3 years old by December 1st for our 3-year old classes, and 4 years old by December 1st for our 4 year old classes. Fully toilet trained means that the child recognizes when he/she has to use the restroom, is able to use the toilet, clean themselves up, wash hands and return to the classroom activities. If your child is applying for the full-time preschool class, he/she must be able to take a nap without an accident. We are not licensed for diapers, pull-ups, or to assist children in the use of the toilet.
Initial Inquiry & Tour
All inquiring families must tour the school. Your parent tour will provide useful information to guide you in your school choice. Our registrar is happy to answer your questions and introduce you to teachers and students.
Contact the registrar at mnadell@bethells.org to schedule a tour.
Application for Enrollment
Completion of the application for enrollment form and submission of the application fee indicates your interest in enrollment. You will receive an application for enrollment at your tour/information session. This form is submitted along with a non-refundable $135 application fee for new students only and any additional paperwork as listed in your application packet.
Student Profile Review
Upon submission of your application for enrollment, if applicable, the cumulative file of the student will be requested. For elementary grades, a teacher recommendation is required. Once received a school administrator will determine whether or not to move forward with an assessment/evaluation. Parents will then be contacted to schedule an assessment for your child, which will help determine readiness for the grades for which they are applying. Admissions will be determined by a combination of cumulative file, Bethel's assessment, and prior teacher recommendation (elementary).
Enrollment
Once you have been notified by the school registrar of your acceptance, complete the remaining enrollment forms and remit tuition payment and other applicable fees in order to secure class placement. The $350.00 enrollment/activity fee is non-refundable and includes processing fees, year book, class field trip fees and more.
Children and families of all faiths are welcome at Bethel Lutheran School. Church membership is not required, however, when applications exceed classroom capacity, priority for admission is given to active Bethel Lutheran Church members and currently enrolled students and their siblings.
Bethel Lutheran School admits students of all races and religions to all the rights, priveleges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at this school, and Bethel does not discriminate on the basis of race nor religion in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship programs, and other school-administered porgrams.
