Each year Bethel Lutheran School sponsors their biggest fundraising event. The walk-a-thon is held each fall on the school campus. This year’s theme is Stand Firm! to represent how God’s love is never changing and stands firm through any storm. This year’s goal is $20,000 to help to support our school in various ways.
What is Bethel’s Walk-a-thon?
Bethel’s walk-a-thon is an annual event where students walk laps, earn prizes, and raise money for programs at our school. In the past, the money raised was used to fund many things needed around campus that tuition doesn’t cover. This year we are hoping to purchase new lunch tables, additional iPads for student use, additional laptops for teachers use, and send our teachers to various workshops.
Families collect donations (pledges) from family and friends to support their participation in the walk-a-thon. Pledges are collected through a site called DoJiggy.com. Students create a donation page at DoJiggy.com. By completing a profile page and emailing pledge requests from family and friends, a student is able to track how much they are raising for the event. When each student completes the registration process, their classroom is one step closer to having 100% participation in the event. Classes that reach this goal receive a special class party at the end of the school year. If your employer provides matching funds, let us know and we can get the information you need to make your donation go even further!
We also have a silent auction with wonderful items like hand-made gifts from each classroom, donated items from various businesses like Stanford Athletics, Chabot Space & Science Center, San Jose Earthquakes, Gilroy Gardens, Pier 39, and more!
